Not without further ado. Marine diesel additives are often tailored to the specific conditions on board, such as fiberglass-reinforced plastic or aluminum tank materials and longer periods of inactivity. Use products that the manufacturer explicitly approves for marine use.
Does a fuel stabilizer really help with starting problems after winter storage?
A stabilizer added to the tank before winterization prevents gasoline from forming gummy deposits and clogging carburetors or injectors. However, it does not replace complete winter maintenance – an empty tank or a drained fuel system is a better solution depending on the engine.
How do I recognize if my diesel tank is affected by diesel bug?
