Not directly. You need a converter that translates between both protocols. If you have an existing NMEA 0183 network and want to add a new NMEA 2000 device, a gateway is the cleanest solution.
What is the required mounting depth when purchasing a display?
The mounting depth varies significantly depending on the device and is listed in the manufacturer's technical specifications. Carefully measure the available space behind your dashboard or bulkhead before ordering – especially in confined cockpit consoles, space can be tight.
