Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte
- How do I know which shaft length I need for my deck?
- Measure the deck thickness at the installation point and add the height of the nut, plus some clearance for the sealing washer. The shaft should fully engage the nut without protruding excessively.
- Can I use stainless steel bolts in an aluminum deck?
- Only with caution: stainless steel and aluminum form a galvanic couple, which attacks the aluminum. Insulating washers or sealant between the metals reduce the risk; a plastic bushing is the safest solution.
- How often should I check deck eyes for tightness?
- At least once per season and after severe weather. Especially on wooden decks, the material works seasonally, which can loosen connections. At the same time, check the sealant for cracks or detachment.
- What is the difference between a deck eyelet and a deck eye?
- The terms are often used synonymously, but sometimes refer to different shapes: deck eyelets usually have a closed ring and serve as an anchor point for lines, while deck eyes can also be designed as a guide ring for ropes or for redirecting lines. Look at the product drawing to assess the actual shape.
