Battery switch
Ensure solid, watertight deck solutions
Battery switches include classic deck fittings and fasteners that are often overlooked in everyday life – until they are missing.
Here, precise dimensions, material, and clean installation are essential. Stainless steel is durable and corrosion-resistant, while brass and bronze are traditional and robust.
With the right selection, everything will be firmly, cleanly, and permanently sealed.
Discover variants, materials, and finishes built for marine use. This way, you'll find equipment that remains reliable on board – season after season.

Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte
- What amperage should my battery switch have at a minimum?
- The switch must be able to handle the maximum continuous current of your entire system – when starting, the starter’s inrush current can briefly be many times the rated current. Check your engine's starter current and choose a switch whose peak current rating covers this value, not just the rated current.
- Can I turn off the battery switch while the engine is running?
- You should avoid this. If the alternator is running and you disconnect the battery circuit, a voltage spike will occur, which can damage the voltage regulator or other consumers. Always turn off the engine first, then disconnect the battery switch.
- What does the 'Both' position mean on a 1-2-Both-Off switch?
- In the 'Both' position, the starter and house batteries are connected in parallel – you can then use both for starting or charge both simultaneously. However, the boat should not be operated continuously in this position, as a deeply discharged battery will otherwise pull down the other.
- Which protection class do I need for a battery switch in the engine compartment?
- In the engine compartment, splash water and condensation are normal, so at least IP54 is recommended. If the switch is located directly near water or the boat has an outboard engine compartment without a cover, it should be IP65 or better.
