Correct identification saves time and protects the engine. Serial number, engine type, and year of manufacture are the most important pieces of information.
For propellers, diameter, pitch, and rotation direction are crucial.
This keeps your propulsion efficient, economical, and reliable.

Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte
- What happens if I install a spark plug with the wrong heat range?
- A plug that is too cold will foul quickly, and one that is too hot can lead to pre-ignition and damage the engine. Always use the heat range specified by the manufacturer.
- How often should I change the spark plugs in my outboard motor?
- That depends on the engine type and intensity of use. As a rule of thumb: Check the plugs annually during seasonal maintenance and replace them if there is visible wear or after the operating hours specified by the manufacturer.
- Can I use car spark plugs in my boat engine if the type designation matches?
- The type designation alone is not enough. Boat engines have different thermal requirements than car engines. Only use plugs that are explicitly approved for your engine type.
- What spark gap do I need to set during installation?
- You can find the correct gap in your engine's owner's manual or service booklet. Even new plugs can deviate slightly from the target value ex-works – therefore, always measure before installation and adjust if necessary.
