Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte

How do I find out which part fits my Tohatsu engine?
The nameplate on the engine block indicates the model designation, serial number, and year of manufacture – these three pieces of information are usually sufficient to uniquely identify a part. If in doubt, compare it with the spare parts catalog for your engine type.
Are Tohatsu and Nissan outboards technically identical, so that parts are interchangeable?
Many models from their joint production period do indeed share the same basis and identical parts, but this does not apply across the board to all model years and displacement classes. Always check the part number before transferring a part from one model to another.
How often should I change the impeller on my Tohatsu outboard?
Most manufacturers and experienced boat engine mechanics recommend changing it every one to two operating years, regardless of its external condition – a cracked or hardened impeller often gives no warning and can quickly lead to overheating damage.
Which anodes do I need for my Nissan outboard in saltwater?
In saltwater, zinc anodes are the classic choice and proven for most applications. Aluminum anodes are considered slightly more efficient and are also used in saltwater, while magnesium anodes are suitable exclusively for freshwater.
