How can I tell if a tank or hose is suitable for drinking water?
Products suitable for drinking water have a corresponding approval, for example, according to WRAS or KTW. You can find this information in the product description or on the product itself. Only use components with this approval throughout the entire drinking water system.
How often does a gas hose on board need to be replaced?
Gas hoses have an embossed or printed expiry date, which must be adhered to. Regardless, you should replace the hose immediately if there are visible cracks, hardening, or after a severe kink.
Can I combine fittings and hoses from different manufacturers?
Yes, provided that the diameter and design match exactly. Nominal dimensions alone are not sufficient – check whether the connection is approved for the respective medium and the pressure that occurs, and test for leaks before the system goes into operation.
How do I prevent microbial growth in the diesel tank over winter?
Half-full tanks are susceptible to condensation, which promotes bacterial and fungal growth. Overwinter the tank as full as possible or completely empty. Biocide additives can be used as a preventative measure, but they do not replace regular visual inspection of the fuel.
