Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte

Where can I find the serial number of my Selva or Parsun outboard motor?
For most Selva and Parsun models, the serial number is stamped on a nameplate on the motor bracket or transom clamp. Alternatively, it can be found in the motor's accompanying documentation. This number allows for clear clarification of parts compatibility.
Do Sherwood impellers also fit other pump manufacturers?
Sherwood impellers are specified by housing size and shaft diameter and fit many cooling water pumps from various engine brands – but not automatically every one. Before purchasing, check the housing dimensions, number of blades, and shaft diameter of your existing pump.
How often should I change the impeller of my Sole diesel engine?
Sole itself recommends an annual change or at the latest every 200 to 250 operating hours. If the engine runs dry even briefly, the impeller can be immediately damaged – in which case, replace it immediately, regardless of the interval.
Are compatible spare parts for Parsun outboards as reliable as original parts?
That depends on the component. Compatible filters, anodes, or spark plugs usually prove to be good in practice. For seals, impellers, and fuel components, original quality is safer because dimensional tolerances and materials directly affect engine life there.
