How do I find the right end fitting for my Seldén spinnaker pole?
The most reliable way is the pole's serial number or by specifying the boat type and year of manufacture. The outer tube diameter alone is often not sufficient, as Seldén uses different wall thicknesses and profile shapes depending on the generation.
Can I combine Seldén fittings with spinnaker poles from other manufacturers?
Generally possible, but not recommended without precise dimensional inspection. Even small millimeter deviations lead to play or jamming, which can become problematic under load.
What material are the fittings made of, and how much maintenance do they require?
Most parts are made of anodized aluminum or stainless steel. Dismantle once per season, rinse off salt, and re-lubricate moving parts – that's sufficient for normal sailing use.
What should I consider if I only want to replace a single component of the spinnaker pole?
Check if the new part matches the current pole generation – Seldén has developed the system over the years, so newer parts are not always backward compatible. If in doubt, simply ask us.
