Self-tacking jib & accessories
Perfect Trim and Control
Self-tacking jib & accessories are all about trim, control, and reliable power transmission on board.
When choosing, breaking load, diameter, and compatibility with your existing hardware are key. Ball bearings run smoothly under load, while plain bearings are robust and low-maintenance.
This ensures sail handling remains precise, smooth, and durable.
Discover variants, materials, and designs built for marine use. This way, you'll find equipment that remains reliable on board – season after season.

Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte
- Does every jib traveler car fit every self-tacking track?
- No. The car and track must have the same profile – different manufacturers use different cross-sections. Before purchasing, check the profile specifications of both parts or consistently rely on components from the same system.
- How long should the self-tacking track be for my boat?
- As a rule of thumb, the track extends from gunwale to gunwale so that the car can travel far enough to leeward. If it is too short, the jib will be too flat upwind and lose drive. Measure the usable deck area before purchasing and allow for some reserve.
- Do I have to replace the car after every season?
- Not necessarily, but regular maintenance significantly extends its lifespan. Rinse the car with fresh water after every saltwater use and check once a season whether bearings or sliding surfaces have become rough or stiff – then a replacement makes sense.
- Can I convert a standard roller furling system to a self-tacking jib?
- The roller furling system itself usually remains unchanged; you add a track, car, and an adapted sheet lead point at the jib head. It is crucial that the new sheet attachment point matches the sail area – you should best coordinate this with your sailmaker.
