Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte

Can I cut a standard roller blind to the correct width?
Many marine roller blinds can be cut to size with a fine saw or a cutter – whether this is allowed is stated in the respective product description. Plan for some reserve and always measure the opening at the narrowest point.
Which fabric is suitable for the helm station so that I can still navigate?
An open-weave screen fabric with an openness factor of typically 3-10% significantly reduces glare and heat without completely blocking the view outside. For direct sunlight from the front, this is the best choice compared to opaque fabrics.
Do adhesive fixings really hold on board, or do I need screws?
High-quality adhesive fixings hold permanently on clean, dry GRP or glass if the surface is degreased before installation and the adhesive tape can cure for 24 hours without load. For rough or porous surfaces and frequently used roller blinds, a screwed bracket is more reliable in the long term.
How do I prevent the guide rails from becoming difficult to pull due to salt deposits?
After every trip with saltwater contact, rinse the rails with clear fresh water. Once a season, apply a thin layer of silicone-free lubricant or special rail spray – silicone products can leave stains on plastic and make subsequent adhesive work difficult.
