Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte

What kind of roller is suitable for antifouling?
Short-nap foam rollers or special antifouling rollers are the best choice because they absorb viscous paint well and apply it evenly. Make sure the roller is approved for solvent-based products, otherwise the foam will dissolve in the paint.
Can I use the same brush for antifouling and clear coat?
It's possible if you clean it thoroughly – but not recommended. Antifouling residue in the brush can dull the clear coat or affect adhesion. For high-quality paints, it's better to use a clean brush.
What should be considered when masking the waterline?
Use UV- and moisture-resistant masking tape specifically designed for outdoor work. Regular painter's tape can tear or leave adhesive residue on the dock when exposed to moisture and sunlight. Remove immediately after painting and before it is completely dry.
Is it worth cleaning and reusing brushes after antifouling?
For inexpensive disposable brushes, it's hardly worthwhile. High-quality brushes can be cleaned immediately after use with the appropriate thinner, then washed with soap and water and hung to dry – this way they will last several seasons.
