Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte

Which sealant is suitable for underwater repairs?
For underwater areas, you need a sealant that is explicitly designated as permanently waterproof and resistant to antifouling. Check the product data sheet for the specified application area – not every marine sealant is approved for permanent water contact.
Can I use epoxy repair products at low temperatures?
Most epoxy systems have a minimum application temperature, which is stated in the data sheet – often between 10 and 15 °C. Below this temperature, they will not cure correctly or will remain sticky.
How long does a GRP repair area need to cure before I can paint over it?
That depends on the product used and the ambient temperature. You can find the curing time in the respective product data sheet – always allow a little more time than indicated, especially in cooler conditions.
Do I really need to degrease the surface before an epoxy repair?
Yes, this is crucial for adhesion. Grease, wax, or silicone prevent a reliable bond. Sand the surface, then degrease it with a suitable cleaner, and then let it dry – only then apply the product.
