Keep an eye on course, data, and safety
Navigation and communication are crucial for safety and situational awareness. Interfaces like NMEA 2000/0183, suitable transducers, and correct voltage are critical.
Many systems can be expanded step by step – from a simple display to a fully networked system.
This way, you get technology that truly supports you and performs convincingly at sea.
Discover variants, materials, and designs built for maritime use. This way, you'll find equipment that remains reliable on board – season after season.

Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte
- What is the difference between a radome and an open array?
- A radome is fully enclosed, more robust in everyday use, and sufficient for most recreational boats. An open array rotates faster, provides higher angular resolution, and is better suited for long ranges or professional operation, but is more delicate and requires more maintenance.
- Can I connect the radar to my existing chartplotter?
- That depends on the manufacturer. Many radar systems use proprietary networks and only work with plotters from the same manufacturer as a radar display. Check compatibility before purchasing – or plan for a standalone radar display unit.
- How does mounting height affect radar performance?
- The higher the antenna is mounted, the greater the theoretical range, as radar essentially needs line of sight. At the same time, with greater height, the blind spot directly below the antenna increases. For most recreational boats, mounting on the mast or pilothouse is a good compromise.
- How do I properly maintain a radome?
- The dome itself is robust and only needs to be rinsed occasionally with clear water – no harsh cleaners that could damage the plastic housing. Regularly check the cable connection at the base of the antenna for moisture and corrosion, and if necessary, secure it with corrosion protection spray.
