Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte

How do I know if a part fits my Mercury outboard?
The most reliable method is your engine's serial number. It is engraved on the nameplate on the engine block or drive housing and allows for precise identification by year of manufacture and series.
Which anode material is correct for my Mercruiser drive?
That depends on the water you are operating in: Zinc for saltwater, magnesium for freshwater, aluminum is universally applicable. The wrong choice will protect your drive significantly less effectively.
How often should I change the impeller on a Mercury engine?
As a rule of thumb, every 100 to 200 operating hours or at least every two seasons – even if the impeller still appears intact externally, the blades may already be brittle and fail during operation.
Does the difference between Alpha and Bravo drives also apply to gear oil changes?
Yes, Alpha and Bravo drives have different fill volumes, oil filler positions, and sometimes different oil specifications. Before changing, check the manual or the information on the drive housing.
