Cooling water pumps
Ensure supply and comfort on board
Supply and comfort on board depend on suitable connections, material compatibility, and the correct flow rate.
For drinking water products, you should pay attention to appropriate approvals. For gas, safety comes first.
This keeps the system tight, clean, and reliable.
Discover variants, materials, and designs that are built for maritime use. This way, you'll find equipment that remains reliable on board – season after season.

Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte
- How often should I replace the impeller of my raw water pump?
- Most manufacturers recommend replacement every one to two seasons or after a certain number of operating hours. Even if the impeller looks good on the outside, the rubber vanes may already have fatigue cracks that only become a problem under load.
- Can I use an impeller from a different manufacturer as a replacement?
- Generally yes, provided the dimensions and material match the manufacturer's specifications. Carefully check the outer diameter, width, and number of blades – even small deviations can reduce cooling performance or damage the housing.
- What happens if the raw water pump runs dry for a short time?
- Even a few seconds of dry running can destroy the rubber impeller due to heat and friction. In the worst case, individual vanes can break off and clog the cooling water circuit further downstream in the system – therefore, always ensure that water is being drawn in when starting the engine.
- Do I need to pay attention to the direction of rotation when replacing the pump?
- Yes, absolutely. Impellers must be installed in a specific direction of rotation so that the vanes are correctly pre-tensioned. The correct installation direction is usually indicated on the housing or in the pump's installation manual – incorrect installation immediately and noticeably reduces the delivery rate.
