Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte

Which plastic is best suited for outdoor fittings?
UV-stabilized polyamide or polypropylene are significantly more durable for outdoor use than standard plastics. Explicitly look for a note about UV stabilization in the product description, otherwise fittings can become brittle after just a few seasons.
How do I know if a fitting fits my hose?
The decisive factors are the inner diameter of the hose and the outer diameter of the fitting's spigot. Measure both values with a caliper before ordering – manufacturer specifications in inches and millimeters often differ slightly and can still be incompatible.
Can I seal plastic fittings with thread seal tape?
Yes, PTFE thread seal tape is the recommended method for plastic threads. Important: tighten only hand-tight plus a maximum of half a turn, as plastic threads can easily be overtightened and then remain permanently leaky.
Can I install plastic fittings directly into a GRP hull?
Yes, but use a sufficiently large washer or reinforcement pad on the inside so that the load is distributed over a large area. A too small contact point can cut into the GRP laminate over time and jeopardize the watertightness.
