Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte
- What rated load should the sensor have for my stay?
- The rated load of the sensor should at least correspond to the breaking load of your stay or wire, but ideally not be more than double – otherwise, measurement accuracy will suffer in the normal operating range. You can find the breaking load of your wire in the manufacturer's documentation or on the rigging label.
- Do Cyclops load sensors also work without their own display?
- Yes, many Cyclops models transmit measured values via Bluetooth to a smartphone app. Check the respective product to see whether a separate receiver or only the app is needed, so you don't have any unpleasant surprises after purchase.
- How do I integrate the sensor into my existing rigging?
- Most Cyclops load sensors are shackled inline into a line or wire. Make sure that the shackle diameter of the sensor fits the existing fitting and that the overall length of the connection is still correct after installation.
- How do I care for the sensor after sailing in saltwater?
- After each use in saltwater, rinse the sensor and especially the plug connections with fresh water. Then treat the plug connections with a contact protection spray and check for visible damage to the housing and connections before storage.
