Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte
- How do I measure the correct diameter of my railing?
- Measure the outer diameter of the existing railing bar with a caliper – 22, 25, or 32 mm are common. The inner diameter and wall thickness are also relevant for clamp and plug connectors, so it's best to note both before ordering spare parts.
- Can I replace individual railing bars without changing the entire pulpit?
- Yes, provided you find bars with identical diameters and suitable end connectors. Make sure the wall thickness is comparable so that the new bar fits into existing clamps or welding sleeves.
- How do I properly seal railing stanchions in the deck?
- First, completely remove old sealant and thoroughly clean the surfaces. Use a special marine deck sealant that is suitable for your deck's substrate – different products for GRP than for wood. Only tighten the screws after the sealant has cured.
- Why does my stainless steel bow pulpit still get rust spots?
- Rust pitting often occurs at welds or due to foreign rust from steel chips that accumulate on the surface. Clean the affected areas with a stainless steel cleaner and then treat the surface with a passivating agent or care oil, especially after winter.
