How many steps do I need for my freeboard?
As a rule of thumb: one step should be well below the waterline when swimming, so you can push off and pull yourself up. For a freeboard of over 60 cm at the stern, at least three, or even better, four steps are recommended. The product description will tell you the total length of the ladder.
Will a swimming ladder fit my GRP stern without a railing?
Yes, there are models specifically for mounting on the transom by screwing or with a clamp holder. The crucial factor is the hole spacing of the mounting plates – compare this with your stern before ordering.
Can I leave a stainless steel swimming ladder permanently mounted in saltwater?
