Sterling alternator-to-battery chargers (also called A2B as an abbreviation for Alternator to Battery) enable fast and effective charging of the batteries by the alternator – and all this with minimal installation effort.
Technical articles have referred to Sterling alternator-to-battery chargers as "charging current doping": The often insufficient charging provided by the alternator is significantly improved by installing a Sterling A2B charger. These chargers efficiently charge auxiliary batteries with a temperature-compensated IUoUo charging characteristic and can be optimally adjusted to the battery type used (lead-acid, gel, AGM).
The alternator-to-battery chargers each have one output for the starter battery and one for the auxiliary battery(ies). An existing isolation diode (or relay) is replaced by the A2B charger. The auxiliary battery charging is...
The charging process is controlled by measuring the charging voltage directly at the auxiliary battery. The charging process is additionally monitored by temperature sensors on the battery and alternator.
A remote control (optional) with display shows charging voltage and charging current.
