Take the strain off your anchor windlass: This claw hook made of AISI 316 stainless steel hooks securely into the anchor chain and transfers the load via a line directly to a cleat or bollard. This keeps the anchor windlass at rest and protects the motor shaft, gears, and gearbox brake.
Tip: Choose a line of sufficient length so that the chain can sag by a few links – this way, the line also dampens shock loads in rough seas.
