The additional weight directly on the anchor keeps the pull flat on the ground – this noticeably improves your anchor's holding power and protects the anchor line from excessive wear.
Important when anchoring: The chain length on the seabed should be at least twice the water depth, but at least 4 meters. The total length of ground chain and anchor line should be at least 3 times the water depth – this ensures the pull on the anchor remains flat and the holding power is optimal.
