Magnification/Lens 20-60 x 80

The image is 20-60 times larger than what the naked eye sees. 7x is the recommended magnification for marine binoculars. The second number, 80, indicates the diameter of the objective lens. The higher the number, the better the light transmission. This is advantageous in low light. A 50mm objective lens is recommended for use at sea.

BK-7 prism

Borosilicate prism material of class B. Has a good ability to transport light and image from the objective lens through the prisms to the eyepiece and to the eye.

Multiple coatings

Allows 90% light transmission.
