Distribution and busbars
Ensure solid, tight deck solutions
Distributors & Bus Bars include classic deck fittings and fasteners that are often overlooked in everyday life – until they are missing.
Precise dimensions, material, and clean installation are crucial here. Stainless steel is durable and corrosion-resistant, while brass and bronze are traditional and robust.
With the right selection, everything will be firmly, cleanly, and permanently sealed.
Discover variants, materials, and designs that are built for maritime use. This way, you'll find equipment that remains reliable on board – season after season.

Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte
- What is the best material for busbars on board?
- Tinned or silver-plated copper is the first choice in humid and salty environments because it conducts well and is less prone to oxidation than bare copper. Brass is a cheaper alternative, but should be checked more regularly for tarnishing.
- How many terminals should a busbar have for a typical sailboat?
- That depends on the number of your consumers. Plan for one more connection than you currently need – installing a larger busbar later is more complicated than allowing for some buffer from the start.
- Can I mount positive and negative busbars directly next to each other?
- In principle, yes, but keep sufficient distance and ensure that both busbars are securely insulated. An accidental short circuit between the positive and negative busbars can destroy cables and fuses, so covers or insulating separators are strongly recommended.
- What do I need to consider regarding cable cross-section during installation?
- The clamping terminals of the busbar must match the respective cable cross-section – terminals that are too small will not release the conductor securely, and those that are too large will not clamp it tightly enough. Before purchasing, check which cross-sections the busbar accommodates and match this with your actual cable thicknesses.
