Hone Your Trim and Control
Traveler systems are all about trim, control, and reliable power transmission on board.
When choosing, breaking load, diameter, and compatibility with your existing hardware are important. Ball bearings run smoothly under load, while plain bearings are robust and low-maintenance.
This ensures sail operation remains precise, smooth, and durable.
Discover variants, materials, and designs built for marine use. This way, you'll find equipment that remains reliable on board – season after season.

Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte
- Ball bearing cars or plain bearing cars – what makes more sense for my application?
- Ball bearing cars run significantly lighter under load and are well suited if you adjust the traveler actively and frequently, for example when regatta sailing. Plain bearing cars are more robust, require less maintenance, and are less susceptible to sand and dirt – an honest advantage for cruising sailors who often leave the system to itself.
- How do I find out what track length is suitable for my boat?
- The usable width at the mounting point, i.e. cabin roof or traveler beam, and the swing range of the main boom are decisive. Measure the available width and subtract some distance on both sides for end stops and deflector blocks. When in doubt, a slightly shorter track is safer than one that protrudes beyond the deck edge.
- Can I combine track and car from different manufacturers?
- As a rule, no. Track profile and car guidance are manufacturer-specific and not compatible with each other. Always buy track, car, and end stops from the same system to avoid fitting problems and safety risks.
- How do I properly seal the mounting holes of the track?
- Use a permanently elastic sealant suitable for underwater or wet areas, and let it cure completely before finally tightening the screws. Insufficiently sealed holes in the deck are one of the most common causes of moisture damage in the cabin area.
