If your solar system on board or off-grid gets really big, you need a charge controller that can keep up. The Victron SmartSolar MPPT RS 450/100-MC4 processes solar voltages up to 450 V DC and thus powerfully charges a 48 V battery bank – perfect for demanding, off-grid systems with large, series-connected PV arrays.

Tip: The isolated PV connections significantly increase safety in high-resistance PV arrays – nevertheless, make sure that all cable cross-sections are dimensioned for the chosen system power and activate the integrated overvoltage protection via the charging parameter settings.
