What information do I need to order the correct engine accessories?
In most cases, the serial number, engine type, and year of manufacture are sufficient. For propellers, you also need to provide the diameter, pitch, and rotation direction.
Which anode alloy is right for my waters?
Zinc anodes are standard in saltwater, aluminum anodes work in saltwater and brackish water, and magnesium anodes are designed for freshwater. Using the wrong alloy can significantly reduce protection.
How often do I need to change the impeller?
Most manufacturers recommend an annual replacement or after a certain number of operating hours – whichever comes first. Do not rely on the external appearance, as rubber can become porous internally.
Can I combine engine accessories from different manufacturers?
That depends on the part. Filter inserts and anodes are often manufacturer-independent, as long as the dimensions are correct. For safety-relevant parts such as fuel lines or impellers, you should only use approved products from the engine manufacturer.
