Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte
- Which plug type is standard in German and European ports?
- Most European marinas use CEE industrial plugs according to IEC 60309, typically blue for single-phase 230V power. Before traveling abroad, check which standard applies in the destination country – an adapter plug can be helpful.
- What cable cross-section do I need for my shore power connection?
- That depends on the maximum current and the cable length. The higher the amperage and the longer the cable, the larger the cross-section must be to avoid voltage drop and heating. When in doubt, choose one size larger.
- Can I replace an existing built-in socket myself?
- This is generally possible if you are skilled in handicrafts and the cutout size of the new socket matches the old one. However, work on the 230V installation should be carried out with the necessary care and – depending on the country – by a qualified person.
- How do I protect plugs and sockets from corrosion in a saltwater environment?
- Regularly clean contacts and treat them with a contact spray based on anti-corrosion oil. Built-in sockets with rubber seals and hinged covers reliably keep splash water out and significantly extend the life of the contacts.
