<B>Magnification/Lens 7x50</B> The image is seven times larger than what the naked eye sees. 7x is the recommended magnification for marine binoculars. The second number, 50, indicates the diameter of the lens. The higher the number, the better the light gathering. This is advantageous in low-light conditions. A 50mm lens is recommended for use at sea.
<B>BK-7 prism</B> Borosilicate prism material of class B. Has a good ability to transport light and image from the objective lens through the prisms to the eyepiece and out to the eye.
