The display is easily readable even in sunlight with polarized sunglasses.
The NMEA 2000 network allows for easy connection of multiple Garmin devices or devices from other manufacturers. This includes everything from radars and autopilots to cameras and instruments such as logs and depth sounders. All of this is then readable and controllable via the Garmin chartplotter display. The OneHelm™ function mirrors the display to secondary or tertiary devices on the onboard network, from which the system can also be operated. Furthermore, the OneHelm™ system can fully control many other onboard functions, such as digital switching for lights, multimedia, and more.
The GPSMAP 8400 chartplotter's processor ensures fast image rendering, excellent networking capabilities, video streaming, and more. It can connect directly to the Garmin quatix® watch, gWind™ Wireless 2 wind sensor, and remote controls. The optional GRID ™ 20 remote provides intuitive access to and control of the entire Garmin marine system.
Echo sounders, radar systems, cameras, media devices, and digital circuits can be operated independently or integrated into the SmartMode controllers. SmartMode provides quick and easy access to the information you need.
Auto Guidance technology, which suggests a route to the destination by taking into account ship data such as draft or clearance height.
The Garmin SailAssist function displays useful information such as laylines to determine the optimal tacking time, true and apparent wind, heading and COG lines, tides, drift and current.
