Anchor holder & rollers
Stay secure – even in a strong current
Anchor holders & rollers are the basis for safe anchoring in a bay. Weight, boat length, and cruising area determine which system suits you.
Many sailors use a combination of chain and rope to balance hold and handling. The right bow roller, the correct chain division, and a stable attachment are also important.
With the right anchor gear, your boat will lie more calmly – even in wind and waves.
Discover variants, materials, and designs built for maritime use. This way, you'll find equipment that remains reliable on board – season after season.

Deine Fragen / Unsere Antworte
- How do I find out which bow roller fits my anchor chain?
- The chain pitch is crucial: it refers to the distance between the chain links and is given in millimeters. If your chain, for example, says 8 mm, you need a bow roller that is explicitly approved for this chain size. If in doubt, measure the chain with calipers.
- Can I use an anchor holder for any anchor type?
- No. Plow, Delta, and folding anchors differ significantly in head width and design. Before buying, check whether the holder mentions your anchor type in the product description or whether a suitable dimension sheet is available.
- Do I need to reinforce the deck when installing a bow roller?
- That depends on the thickness of your deck and the load you expect. For thin laminate, you should use a sufficiently large backing plate made of stainless steel or plywood on the inside so that the load is distributed and the laminate is not dented.
- How do I properly maintain anchor holders and rollers?
- After each anchoring trip, rinse briefly with fresh water, especially the roller axles. Once per season, grease the axles and check for cracks or corrosion. If a roller jams, clean it immediately and do not stress it further – a blocked roller chafes the chain and will suddenly give way at some point.
