The battery absolutely requires an external BMS. Victron recommends the VE.Bus BMS for systems with Victron inverters and chargers, the BMS 12/200 or Smart BMS 12/200 for marine applications with DC loads and alternators, and the smallBMS for smaller installations. Select the appropriate BMS already when planning your installation.
