Tip: Always carry a spare impeller on board – a defective impeller rarely announces itself, and replacement in the marina takes just a few minutes. When installing, lightly grease the vanes with acid-free petroleum jelly or dish soap so that the impeller doesn't tear immediately during dry start protection.
