Especially in salt and brackish water, an intact anode protection is the easiest and cheapest way to avoid expensive repairs to the drivetrain.
Tip: Zinc anodes are the right choice for salt and brackish water. In fresh water, magnesium anodes should be used instead, as zinc is barely electrochemically active there.
